Derived
Statement

"To design intuitive app connecting their smartphone to the washing machine, enabling effortless scheduling, monitoring, and control of laundry cycles. To seek convenience, real-time updates, customisation, and eco-friendly options for cost savings and sustainability, aiming for an efficient, user-centric, and tech-savvy laundry experience".

One action per screen

The design should not confuse user.

Actionable

It should  push the user to complete the flow

Quick and Easy

The process shold be fast and simple

Make it easy to understand

Allow user to consume imformation seamlessly.

We laid down some principles based on UX research finding and data analysis, based on which we structured entire design.

Information
Architecture

After analysing and detailed study of the user’s needs and prioritising the service, features required to them, the information architecture was built, This is to structure the digital product.

User Flow

Creating a user flow for the My IFB app is essential to design an intuitive and user-friendly experience. Here's a simplified user flow:

Low
Fidelity

Low-fidelity design involves creating rough, simplified sketches wireframes that focus on the basic layout and structure of the app's interface. These initial designs prioritize functionality over visual aesthetics, allowing to quickly explore and iterate.

Visual language
& Brand Identity

The visual language encompasses a cohesive design with IFB's distinctive colour schemes, typography, icons, and imagery. This ensures a visually pleasing and user-friendly interface that aligns with IFB's commitment to quality and innovation.

Heatmap

Heatmap visually tracks user interactions like taps and scrolls, revealing popular and less-engaged areas. It guides designers in optimizing interface elements for improved usability, ensuring that essential features are easily accessible and enhancing overall user experience through data-driven design refinements.

Homepage

The home screen welcomes users with a clean and intuitive interface.

Users can swipe horizontally to navigate between different offers and recipes.

Dashboard provides real-time information about the appliance's status, including current operation, cycle time.

Working Prototype

Pairing

Multiple devices can be paired and controlled simultaneously via Direct mode or WiFi mode.

Direct Mode control appliances without relying on an internet connection.

WiFi Mode in the IFB app empowers users to control and monitor their IFB appliances remotely from anywhere with internet.

Control Device

The app provides access to a variety of wash programs tailored for different fabric types and laundry needs. Users can choose from options like cotton, synthetic, wool, delicates, and more.

Users can adjust parameters such as water temperature, spin speed, soil level, and additional options to fine-tune the washing process based on their preferences and laundry requirements.

Delay feature allows users to set a delay in the start of the washing cycle, which is particularly useful for scheduling laundry at off-peak hours or when they are away from home.

My Learning

Prioritizing user needs and preferences is essential for creating an intuitive and satisfying user experience.

Conducting usability tests with real users reveals pain points and areas for improvement.

Sketches

Following research and information architecture, the next step to design sketching. Based on user insights and a well-structured architecture, sketches help translate ideas into visual representations. These hand-drawn sketches explore layouts, interactions, and user flows, facilitating rapid iteration and refining the app's design.

Overview
